Black Spur Bright - Self Drive Motorcycle Tour (MEL)

Travelling from Mitcham in Melbourne to North East Victoria allows you to travel some of the most scenic areas of Victoria and Australia and begin what will be a terrific weekend away.  The final destination is beautiful Bright in North East Victoria. This route takes you on some of the best motorcycle roads in the country, including the Black Spur. North East Victoria has plenty to offer the traveller and historic towns such as Beechworth and Bright contain plenty to do or, if you prefer, an environment where you can just chill out and take in the scenery.  We have picked out the best roads, worked out the best places to stay and the best places to stop on the way so you can recharge your batteries.

DAY ONE:  Melbourne - Bright 348 km / 216 mi

This morning you pick up your bike at EagleRider Melbourne in Mitcham and begin what will be a terrific weekend away.  The final destination is beautiful Bright which is in North East Victoria.  Following our guided route you will travel out of town to Healesville where you can stop for coffee before heading north east over the Black Spur.  The Black Spur is acknowledged as one of the best driving roads in Australia.  You will enjoy both the ride and the scenery. After passing over the Black Spur head for Alexandra, across to Mansfield, Moyhu and then the Great Alpine Road.  Follow the Great Alpine Road through Myrtleford and to Bright and your accommodation. 
 

DAY TWO:  Bright - Melbourne 368 km / 228 mi

After spending the night at Bright, we recommend that you take a slightly different route on the way home.  Our suggested route will allow you to visit Beechworth and time permitting Yackandandah before heading back to town. Our suggested route will guide you back to Melbourne via Yea, Kinglake West, Whittlesea, Nutfield, Hurstbridge and finally Mitcham and EagleRider Melbourne.
